  Are the GB very intelligent men with higher than average IQ? Or are they stupid men who were put in their position by sheer “LUCK”

  are the governing body of the wt wickedly smart with extremely high iq or are they leaders of the wt because they were at the right place at the right time.

  (in other words, pure luck )-think lottery.

  ive seen them talk in jwtv and you can never convince anyone in the whole world that these guys are in the same category as someone smart or cunning like jim simons who founded renaissance technologies or bill gates.

  For most of the WT history someone on the GB had a very active roll in producing content. Russel, Rutherford, Fred Franz, Ray Franz were all prolific writers of propaganda content.

  I am not aware of any GB members today who are as actively involved in producing content and a primary reason for the recycled food and dumb down content IMO.
  

  For this reason I say they are dumber then previous members.

  For what they lack in writing ability and producing new spiritual content, they more than make up for in shrewedness.

  Totally agree GB1 had some respectability, as in Grandfatherly. The new bunch are like used car salesmen. Anyhow now that TTATT is out it's a done deal their glory years are over thanks to the abundant information that's out there on WT history.

  Hey Brendan, cool another local Montreal boy ! We may of even been in the same assemblies, I was in a cong up north, even did a stint in French for a while.

  For a differing point of view on the flood look up Walt Brown's Hydroplate theory. Although no longer a GB follower I'm still a believer in scripture as a few of us here happen to be.

  yesterday i was with a group of brothers that wanted my advice on re-roofing a home.

  three of them were ministerial servants.

  all of them are from the spanish congregation.

  I once texted a Mexican friend of mine that I was going over to the Bible Students and that I was planning on DA'ing. I then got a volley of texts back on FDS and light getting brighter plus Math 24:14 on preaching. The poor guy thinks he has it all figured out. This coming from someone with a college degree vs myself the tradesman. His whole family works for him, TTATT would be devastating to him. I no longer keep in touch and hope he spread the rumor as to my being 'apostate' Oh and many come from Catholic backgrounds rank with superstition.

  can be face book or anything as long as it's for jehovahs kingdom, but mentions those 2 things.

  They go the the bathroom like us, maybe more so by the looks of them.

  Well fed bunch. Reminds me of an ongoing joke on a local Montreal radio station back in the eighties, they had a thing going where one would ask the other : Salut mon Bill, fait tu de l'argent sur le dos des autres ? ( insert French Canadian accent hehe ) Pretty funny !

  Totally went away, but I was in only for only a few years and grudgingly at best as I thought they had truth. The way a single man outsider such as myself is related to is not on the same level as a born in. Will always be second class, and besides just thinking about the blatant manipulation is enough to make my blood boil.

  Mind you I spent most of my online time this summer researching and deprogramming myself. Must me multiple times harder for a born in where JW thinking is entrenched.

  What is the most bizarre counsel you received as a JW, from a JW?

  there were many addressed to me.

  for example, i once had a sister tell me i was gambling because i liked playing skill crane (the machine where you have to try to pick up prizes like stuffed animals) at the arcade.

  i then fired back a her: "you saw the r-rated movie 'backdraft.

  Not on par with all your stories but I would sometimes go to the hall in my old lifted 4X4 Toyota pick-up on 33 in Mud Terrains that would stick out a few inches and looked pretty agro. Anyhow a brother said I should sell it. Another one told me it looked like a dune buggy.. hehe

  I have an account there. I started it when I began to feel myself slipping spiritually and just couldnt stomach the local devious elders. I thought maybe if I broadened my viewpoint it would help me.

  I started a membership here too.

  Guess which one helped me?

  The folks over there didnt ring true to me. I think they are all striving to "chin up" to the perceived tone.

  Basically they are all trying to out spiritual one another. Im sure some there know that and are unsatisfied but dont know what to do.
